Taryn and her sister, Morgan, were dropped off at a pet store by people who probably couldn't take care of them...with their disability. Morgan and Taryn both have cerebellar Hypoplasia which is often referred to as wobbly kitten syndrome. The mother cat wasn't vaccinated against distemper and the kittens ended up having the virus attack the cerebellum and prevent it from developing. This part of the brain controls balance. As a result, the kittens find it very difficult to walk and even stand. Taryn is more on the moderate end. Other than their balance issues, they are both typical kittens...playful, affectionate, and mischievous. Modifications in the home will be needed.....no stairs, litter boxes with high sides, raised feeding dishes, etc. Anyone interested in adopting should research this disability before filling out an application.
